Motivation and goals
Our motivation
Children's Hope Home e.V. primarily supports the work of the Tuwape Tumaini Children's Foundation in its two facilities in Gathiga and Gilgil. The aim of the organisation's work is to cover the costs of food, health, education and accommodation for the children and young people on a permanent basis through regular donations. In addition, individual projects such as the expansion of the rooms, the construction of a greenhouse, etc. are to be realised.
New international partnerships are regularly formed as part of our development volunteer service, with which we pursue the idea of global learning in the sense of sustainability and global responsibility.
You may be asking yourself: What is so special about Children's Hope Home e.V.?
On the one hand, all members of the organisation have a personal connection to the programmes in Kenya. Friendships have developed through numerous visits. We share joys and sorrows and regularly exchange information about developments. With the help of our newsletter, you will also be regularly informed about events at Hope Home.
What else? Despite telling stories about Children’s Hope Home needs and asking for donations, we encourage sponsors and donors to make at least one volunteer trip to see the work they are supporting at first hand. Children’s Hope Home is open for everyone and we love visitors.
Our goals
When you talk to the young people at the Hope Home and ask them what they want, it's things that we take for granted, such as no longer being hungry or being able to go to school.
Health, nutrition and education are therefore our most important goals.
Health
Many people in Kenya cannot afford health insurance and medical check-ups, and statutory health insurance often only covers part of the treatment costs. This means that we have to pay dearly for the children's medication and visits to the doctor every time.
We use your donations to pay for medication and regular medical check-ups.
Nutrition
The children and young people's diet often consists of simple dishes such as cereal porridge in the morning and beans, maize or rice in the afternoon. Ugali, a popular cereal cake made from maize flour, is a frequent meal at Hope Home. These meals are filling and easy to prepare, but we need your support to ensure a balanced and vitamin-rich diet.
With the help of your donations, we can buy a variety of ingredients for a sufficient and fortifying meal every day.
Education
Education in Kenya is a prerequisite for an independent future. Without sufficient education, the chances of earning an adequate income dwindle. And without money, basic human needs such as food and health cannot be met. In Kenya, education is relatively expensive: school fees, school uniforms and teaching materials such as exercise books, pens and books cost a lot of money. In some cases, school purchases also have to be financed by the children's guardians. The children and young people at Hope Home are extremely eager to learn, committed and interested. They all dream of taking independent steps towards a better future after successfully completing school. Unfortunately, for financial reasons, it is not always possible for all children to attend school.
With the help of your donations, education is possible for the kids at the Hope Home.
