Christmas is usually celebrated at the children's home in Gathiga on 28th December, as the children's home was founded on this day 25 years ago. This year, some cooks and other people from Gathiga came to the home on the 27th of December to help prepare the food. By lunchtime the next day, there were pots of rice, beans, vegetables and meat, with the food divided into plastic boxes. With these, Lucy, Duncan and some other people associated with the home travelled to Nairobi to the John Michuki Memorial Park to distribute the food to street families who had been waiting in Nairobi since early morning. After a short prayer, the food was distributed, which was very gratefully received. At the same time, there was a small celebration for the children and the local community at the home in Gathiga.
